Carol Michaels is a struggling freshman. She feels out of place. She misses her boyfriend. And she hates being on the soccer team since her best friend quit and bossy Jenny Jenson became captain. Life is hard.
Then a strange video game arrives in the mail. From the moment she and her brother Josh begin to play, something doesn't feel right. Suddenly, lightning explodes in their living room. Before they can wonder if their parents will ground them, they find themselves inside the game! Carol and Josh enter a world where a sorceress conjures hot dogs for lunch, pigots work for the bad guy, and there are giant scary things worse than Jenny Jenson. Or are there?
